About the
Center for Dispute Resolution
at San Luis Obispo College of Law
Our MISSION is to provide education, training, and accessible conflict resolution services in the San Luis Obispo region.
Our VISION is for a community where conflict is met with constructive pathways for communication, collaboration and healing.
Mediation By the Community, for the Community
Rooted in community partnerships, CDRSLO brings together the academic foundation of San Luis Obispo College of Law and the long-standing local impact of Creative Mediation, formerly a program of Wilshire Community Services. Our shared vision is for a community empowered to address conflict with constructive pathways for communication, collaboration, and healing.
CDRSLO was formed with a focus on sustainability, community partnerships, accessibility, inclusion, outreach, and education, as well as the National Association for Community Mediation’s Hallmarks of Community Mediation Centers.
The Center for Dispute Resolution at San Luis Obispo College of Law (CDRSLO) operates under the umbrella of Monterey College of Law, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Our Team
Center for Dispute Resolution at San Luis Obispo College of Law services are provided by a dedicated team of trained and experienced law school staff, professors, and volunteer community mediators, law students, and interns. Advisory Board
CDRSLO is guided by an Advisory Board comprised of former Creative Mediation leaders and volunteers, community stakeholders, and law school representatives, including those affiliated with the Mandell Gisnet Center for Conflict Management at Monterey College of Law, which has provided small claims and other community conflict resolution services in Monterey County since 2007.
community partners
We appreciate the generous support of our volunteers, donors, and community partners, including funding partners County of San Luis Obispo and City of San Luis Obispo.
founders circle
We are especially grateful to our Founders Circle, a small group of visionary donors whose substantial leadership gifts of $10,000 and beyond are helping to launch and grow CDRSLO and ensure its long-term impact in our community.
